horizontal line alert and scrolling charts issue

Hi, I set horizontal line alert (for example day's high or low) but when I scroll on my chart to a previous day, it seems to trigger the horizontal line alert based on the previous day's value. I am thinking the reason to set chart horizontal line alert is the expectation of current&future movements and not caring about past movement even if the user scrolls the chart back. I hope you can agree that there should be some way to option for this because the "innocent" scrolling would produce "false" alert which is annoying. Thank you!

There must be some other explanation for this because chart drawings are always evaluated to the last actual bar in the chart and not the last visible bar.

That is definitive and just verified now. If you do not want to believe us, that is not our problem. We just want to make this clear because sometimes users do not want to believe what we say. What we said in the prior paragraph is the definitive fact. And any user can verify this.

Also, we have never had a report like this ever.

If you look at the Window >> Alerts Manager >> Alerts tab, you can see the detailed information about the chart drawing alert which may give you more of a clue as to what the issue is in your case.

Also the Date-Time of the bar that triggered the alert is also shown in the alert message. So this makes it very clear as to what bar did that.

Hi, I used TPO Chart for ES. For example on Friday, the 16:15 close is 2574.00 and the "Use Evening" close at 17:00 is 2573.50 then I set my Above or Equal to horizontal line alert to 2574.00.

So when I scroll back, I also click off to "Use Evening" (it's a button on my Control Bar) to see more without the evening TPO bars. I now see that the scroll was not the issue but it was the off "Use Evening" which moved the close back to 16:15 price of 2574.00 and that was the event that trigger the alert.

Sorry I got it wrong at first. The scrolling is not causing it. The "Use Evening" is causing the shift. Is there anyway to on/off "Use Evening" as just a "Visual Evening on/off" without affecting the real "Use Evening" time frame?

Thank you

If anyone wonders why Sierra Chart engineering sometimes has what appears to be "attitude/impatience" on this board at times, which is really not too often, this thread only exemplifies why this is is the case.

It is clear on this thread that I (like most users) are just trying to figure things out that I experienced and don't understand fully with the charts. Since I saw it wrongly at first, I admitted to it. This is a Support Board and I hope a nice space for users to interact and both sides learn something and improve things. I don't see any need for "attitude/rudeness/impatience", that is an individual's choice to behave and to double down on justifying it. Thank you for your time. And no problem that you expressed your point of view. Better out than in, take care! Peace!

Just asking again, my technical question from above: Is there anyway to on/off "Use Evening" as just a "Visual Evening on/off" without affecting the real "Use Evening" time frame? Thank you!

No. This would have to be developed and this was actually the reason why we made the comment that we did, because there is no reasonable implementation like this and it would be very confusing.
