Hi,

Latelly i am experiencing alot of problems with FXCM orders. Orders disappear on SierraChart but stay on FXCM server.

Last order it happened, it had FXCM orderID "127810156". The time I am writting this, it still exists. In the image attached, the background window is the "Orders tab on FXCM's Web tradestation", while at front is SierraCharts "Trade Orders and Positions".

How to prevent/fix this? How can I make the missing order appear ? Another time, the order reappeared after some time ( a few hours if I am not mistaken, happened last friday).

Thanks.

You should now see the order. Confirm.

This was the last activity on it:
Order  2017-10-13 07:28:51.342  GER30  FXCM order update (Order Status). Text: 19915;DAS 19915: ZDas Exception ORA-01403: no data foundORA-06512: at "E10R2.API", line 8204ORA-06512: at line 1  7696

We need to ask FXCM about this and we are going to see if we interpreted the order status correctly. Almost certainly we did. Unfortunately FXCM is not the best designed system and can have issues.

Thanks, indeed I see it now.

This usually happens when I am moving the order in the chart.

This is toublesome, because on FXCM I cannot fix this on the broker app ( on LMAX if something like this happens, at least I can fix it on the broker app ).

Can this happen because of moving orders too many times, too fast ?
I wasn't using the "Click, Release, Click method" of adjusting orders. ( I am going to start using that method to see if it happens again )

No not at all. We are still looking at the problem.

It appears to be a case, where the client order ID is not updated on an order rejection. And we have to revert to the prior one, but the thing is, we understand this may or may not be the case depending upon the FIX implementation and if we have had it wrong, then this would have been an ongoing issue. So we wonder if FXCM recently made a change.

This is something that we simply would never have made a mistake with, because we we clearly read the documentation and we do extensive testing in this regard. So something must have changed on the FXCM side or there is inconsistent behavior. One or the other.

We are releasing the solution to the FXCM demo environment now and we are testing.

We were able to replicate the problem on the demo system. There is little doubt in our mind FXCM has changed something. This kind of problem simply would never have existed in the past. It could not have due to extensive testing we do.

Out of curiosity, since you are in Europe, why do not you use LMAX instead? What is the advantage of FXCM.

We have tested the solution and it works. We are going to release it in a few minutes.

Update has been released.

Let us know if you see any further issue. One way to test this is enter a buy limit order, and then manually adjust it significantly above the current price. This modification will be rejected. It should then return right back to where it was previously. You can then cancel it. This confirms the issue is resolved.

Well... I found FXCM first is probably the biggest reason, I was using FXCM feeds on tradingview for a long time. I opened a FXCM account with FXFlat brokers, which allow to open a "Standard" account with low deposit, I thought "why not ? lets try it".

The biggest advantage to FXCM is no commissions on index cfd's. Also on SierraChart, very big plus on FXCM is that it has trade information ( can see balance and real trade information, on LMAX the fills differ from whats in the LMAX web client ) and FXCM feed has 3 or 4 times more ticks than LMAX ( except for Forex, but on index, for example US30, the difference of FXCM feed to LMAX feed is very big, something along the line of FXCM 144 ticks is LMAX 55 ticks ).

If i had to choose only one, I would use LMAX ( I like their hability to change on which price the orders trigger, ask or bid )

Tested it and seems good. I will test it more when in my next live trade.
If I find any further issue, I will report on this thread.

Thanks for the really great support !

Btw, sorry for getting offtopic, but you guys should check out FXFlat brokers. I say this because they already have a platform connection that should be more or less like SierraCharts ( they have connection to agenatrader, besides mt4/5 ).

They also have great spreads with no commissions but also have stocks, which neither LMAX nor FXCM have.
