So the moving average will start fresh every day.
I want the moving average to start calculating values from the first price of the day when ther's a gap up in the opening and not to continue from yesterday's price like the SMA in my cap.

This can be done with the Spreadsheet Study study.

Put both attached files in your Sierra Chart \Data folder.
To add this study to your chart, go to Analysis >> SMA at new day+
Choose No when asked 'Clear existing studies on chart?'

The SMA length is set in cell J2 on the spreadsheet. You can minimize it if you want.
It is set to average the Last price, starting at the first bar of a new day.

Thanks but both don't work !

1) added the "sma at new day" changed the J21 cell to my need (21) : sadly nothing appears on the chart.

2) added the Average-Continuous study, but it plot the start of the new sma (pink one) exactly where it was before, even when the "Reset at Start of Trading Day" is set to "Yes".

The Length is set in cell J2, not J21.

Check the Study and Subgraph to Reference Input with the study. It clearly is not set correctly. You want to make sure it is based on the main price graph.
