Hello

All of my intraday charts (candlestick and TPOs) of ETHUSD-BITFINEX have incomplete OHLC and no volume data from September 10 and backwards.

I deleted all the data and redownloaded via EDIT->Delete all data and download but nothing happens.

I am also running charts of LTCUSD-BITFINEX but they are fine.

How can I solve the issue?

Regards

We do not see any missing data for this symbol. Follow through the instructions here:

I think I found the error by trial and error.

I normally run 15 chartbooks x 7 intraday charts (1 minute IDSTU). 1 symbol per chartbook.

When all are up and running, I think Sierra cannot successfully download fresh data of a symbol from scratch. For example if I add an additional chartbook (7 new intraday charts) of a new symbol it will download it with incomplete data.

Or If I Edit-> Delete all data and download of a symbol that is already opened with full data, again in some instances it downloads incomplete data.

When I downloaded a new copy of Sierra chart and opened all 15 simultaneously, after 5 completed chartbooks it stopped downloading full data successfully for the remaining chartbooks.

The only solution I think works is by always having less than 5-6 chartbooks when downloading data from scratch. And when all data is downloaded then load all 15.

Do you think this theory might be valid or is it another problem?

Update:

After downloading successfully all the data of the 17 symbols which I was testing, by not having more than 5 chartbooks opened simultaneously at the same time, I added all of them on Files to Open On Startup.

Then I restarted Sierra and 4-5 chartbooks had missing data.

Then I closed 4 chartbooks, and clicked Edit-> Reload and Recalculate on a monthly period TPO chart which was missing data and the chart appeared normally with the full data.

So is the problem that Sierra Chart cannot handle too much data/intraday charts at the same time?

How can I solve this? Run multiple sub-instances?

I would prefer having one client opened with all the chartbooks next to each other.

The system I am running is

Intel i7 3610QM 2.30GHz
8GB Ram
240GB Sata3 SSD
8Mbit internet connection

This makes no sense to us at all and there must be some other reason. Users simply do not have problems like this. There will not be any trouble with this, unless the process were running out of memory.

The problem could be related to what is documented here if you are using File >> New Instance:
Using DTC Server for Data and Trading in Another Sierra Chart Instance: Historical Data and Missing Historical Data

When you have all of those Chartbooks open, re-download the data of one of the charts and then provide a copy of the Message Log here. Here are instructions:

I have also attached a picture of the chart after deleting and redownloading data.

As you can see it is missing data.

Then I go to General Settings and deactivate Files to Open On Startup so I can open Sierra without any chartbooks.

I close Sierra and reopen it.

I open the chartbook which I have sent to you and it is absolutely fine without having to download anything.

I delete and redownload data and again when the chartbook is the only one opened, it is fine.

So maybe I can't view the data when I have many chartbooks opened, I don't know.

Update: It must have been a memory issue.

Changed many intraday charts to historical, reduced the visible amount of days and increased the volume multiplier and now it is fine.

Thanks

The historical Intraday data download is definitely fine.

We are not sure what the problem is/was. This is quite unusual. Never seen anything like this before.
