Hi,

I've been using the Zigzag study to plot swings along with volume, using the 'Display ZigZag Volume' option. I would like to create an alert condition that checks to see when a wave is completed and reversal condition is met, and then compares the volume of the wave to the previous swing/swings. If current swing has less volume than the previous it creates an alert. Is this possible using Colour Bar study or Spreadsheet?

Thanks
S

Yes, this should be possible using the Spreadsheet System/Alert Study:
Spreadsheet Systems, Alerts and Automated Trading

You will want to use the Zig Zag study and also the Zig Zag Cumulative Volume study (for the volume at each chart bar) :
Zig Zag

You will need both of these.

Follow the instructions here to enable the Zig Zag HH,HL,LL,LH labels:
Zig Zag: Text Labels Subgraph Description

Using the Zig Zag Cumulative Volume study, and the Text Labels Subgraph to determine where the reversals occur, you can determine what you need.
