Updated from SC1615 to SC1621 TRANSACT TRADING
When starting SC in simulated mode Connection Info Dialog box 'You are connecting to a live server. All orders are LIVE ORDERS' appears ( previously only appeared when switching from simulated mode to LIVE mode ). SC will not connect into simulated mode unless this confirmation box is checked. This appears to be confusing and is not true until switching from simulated to LIVE mode on the toolbar.
Also when switching from simulated mode to LIVE mode there is no confirmation dialog box as above and goes straight into LIVE mode.

Not sure why this is a problem for you. There were significant problems that were created with the way that it was working before. We are not going to change anything. If the way that it works is not acceptable for you, then go back to the prior version.

Sierra Chart does give you a clear prompt when disabling Trade Simulation Mode that you have to acknowledge, that orders are no longer going to be simulated.

One thing that we can do, is add an option to Data/Trade Service Settings to not connect to the TransAct trading server at all if that is what you require.

It is not a problem for me, however the dialog box on start up re LIVE orders is incorrect if you are in simulation mode.
And post#2 is abrupt and bordering on the rude.
There is absolutely no need for that tone of response for me pointing out what appears to be a confusing situation on SC start up.
A more amicable and polite response costs NOTHING.

There may be a misunderstanding. The dialog box you are referring to is from the TransAct bridge program. It is not from Sierra Chart. We would never display a dialog box like that and it is not within our control.

What it is indicating is that you are connecting to a live trading server.

The way that Sierra Chart connects to TransAct now is consistent with all other trading services.

And post#2 is abrupt and bordering on the rude.
We have worded the response for a purpose, to be very clear, that this is how it is going to be and if it is not acceptable, continue to use a prior version and stay on that version. The abruptness is for a reason. To make it abundantly clear, that our position on this is firm.

We consider the business that we are in as a serious business and we work very hard to provide quality and reliable software. We have high technical competency, and we expect that from others and we often do not get it with external data and trading services and this causes us problems, and causes users problems. And makes us look bad and like dummies sometimes.

The clearness and abruptness, is intended to ensure that you are going to go back to a prior version if necessary so you do not have any problems with what you are depending on in order to avoid problems for yourself, and in order to avoid future support requests.

We make no apologies here. And your comments are only taken as a compliment.
