Ok, I just did a test with a horizontal line "equal to" alert. The first and second were successful but the rest had fail with some duplicate error seen in picture attached. Normally I would NOT set a line alert that triggers a lot, so if there is a duplicate or time limited, I need to know so that it makes sense. For example, after 1 minutes, the duplicate should reset. In the picture I let it run from 12:35 to 12:48 and there was no duplicat reset. Or if duplicate is base on the alert text pattern, then the type of horizontal line always send the same text, so maybe include timestap in the alert text?

OK, may I just suggest to limit to the smallest amount of characters for date-time, so instead of "2017-09-23 13:44:59" it can maybe like "170923134449", so the smaller the better so that I can see the rest of the important alert actual text. I guest you have thought it all out to be efficient, especially when users enable Twitter sms from the Twitter post to show up on an Apple watch or some sms device! Thanks!

We have not made any changes and it would be some time that we support customization of the messages. This would be months from now at the soonest.

We will add the bar Date-Time to the alert message.

This ISN'T a custom request, read the whole problem/bug discussion to see why my sms notify is FAILING. Seems like different people are not on same page.

We will add the bar Date-Time to the alert message.
This has already been done but we were not sure it was actually released. Sometimes it is not always clear to us with all of the development we do and the frequent releases, what functionality has been released or not. And it does get involved when we have to start checking log files and dates of releases to find this out.

We had the impression you already saw that addition because you said these:

I am on ver 1615, doesn't seem fixed.

One thing we cannot do now, is allow the removal of that Date-Time if it is taking too much space. This is what we were referring to in post #9.

Anyway version 1616 contains the Date-Time of the bar for chart Drawing Alerts.

Got ver 1616, still same twitter duplicate issue that began this thread, see attached picture, I marked in RED, the 20 mins apart of the two alerts and yet still duplicate. Perhaps, Twitter checks only for first 160 characters for duplicate text pattern. Also notice what you added "Bar Date-Time" of Text Alert pattern IS NOT the actual date-time of the alert that I marked in RED at the far right!!!

We have verified that the Bar Date-Time is correct for the chart drawing alert messages. It is the starting time of the chart bar.

We cannot help with Twitter rejecting the messages.

We cannot spend further time on this.

Hi, who asked for Bar Date-Time? The issue was a date stamp was needed so twitter doesn't give duplicate as seen in this thread. You proposed Bar Date-Time as a possible solution and it doesn't work. You can see from last picture, my chart is 30 minutes TPO daily chart and the Bar Date-time gives only that 9:30am start of the whole TPO chart and not the 30 minutes bar. So you propose Bar Date-time as a solution and it has nothing to do with the solution! Twitter is seeing duplicate alert message when the first 160 character of alert text pattern is the same. Why can't you just think of the big picture of implementing the Twitter alert correctly instead of getting stuck with defending the Bar Date-time, which has nothing to do with the issue I raised since the beginning! Surely you saw some value with the Twitter alert so included it in the first place! Please make it work correctly. Thank you.

It is a proper and reasonable solution but there is a special case for TPO Profile Charts which we will solve.

It is proper and standard that alert messages which involve chart bars will provide the date-time of the bar. This is what we added to Chart Drawings alerts and this already exists with Study Alerts.

Longer-term you will have the ability to customize alert messages.

We are not going to do any haphazard solutions.

Also, if this functionality does not work well for you, then simply do not use it.

It is a common issue, that when we add new functionality, users keep asking for more and more and more of that functionality. There is only so much we can do now.

This support request is now considered final.

Thanks for taking time for the big picture. If the Twitter and SMS functionality was well thought out and implemented, then 160 character pattern checking for duplicates with Twitter (which I documented for you this week) would have been known before. So it was haphazardly put into place and that is the only reason "this functionality does not work well" for me. I am looking forward to the customize alert that can fit into 160 characters so users can manager with Twitter or sms or any other future methods. Thank you, I really do appreciated you taking the time to understand how to improve your product.
