SC Places windows above my desktop so I cannot move/resize them!

Brand new SC user. Also, I am using a chart book supplied by a friend who is a long-time user. This is probably relevant because of placement settings stored in the chartbook, but that's just a guess.

I can see charts inside the SC main window, i.e. as child windows. But when I try to detach a chart, it gets displayed with the lower half of the chart visible, and the top half of the chart (including the menu bar) off the top of the screen. The result is I cannot move or resize the window because the title bar (needed to move the window) is off the top of my screen).

I do have a large desktop - 13 monitors. But frankly they all share the same top line, so hard to imagine why SC is trying to position windows physically off the screen. I am guessing maybe the person who sent me the chartbook had an unusual monitor config and the X,Y coordinates are set funny.

Is there a way to tell SC to reset the stored placement coordinates or to otherwise get it to detach a window such that I can see and manipulate the title bar?

Thanks in advance,
Erik

Forgot to mention, having the same problem with TRADE WINDOWS. They display with lower half visible, title bar off the top of my monitor.

See attached .PNG for my monitor layout. SC main window is running on monitor #1. When I try to detach a chart, it's putting it off the top of monitor #4. Since they both share the same upper boundary, it's hard to attribute this to my configuration, but I suppose anything is possible?

Sorry, new user, thought I attached the .PNG to the last reply but it didn't take. Just did it again, it uploaded ok, but I still don't see it. For now the monitor that SC is running on and the monitor it's trying to put the detached chart on are at the same vertical placement, and share the same upper boundary.

I'll post the .PNG of my screen layout as soon as I figure out what I'm doing wrong with the upload tool.

Ok, screen layout in prior reply. SC is placing windows off the tops of monitors 12 and 4. I have moved the SC main window from monitor 1 to monitors 2, 10, and 11 (on speculation this might have to do with relative coordinates), but no change in behavior.

While the smaller Y-extent to monitor 12 might suggest that could be the problem, monitor 4 has the same top height as all the other monitors, so that seems to disprove the theory. SC is putting both trade windows and detached charts at the top of monitors 4 and 12, with about 2/3 of the window visible and the rest off the top of the screen where I cannot get to its title bar to drag it elsewhere.

Thanks in advance!!!

Erik

This problem has to do with the position layout of the charts from the other user on their monitor configuration.

The only thing we can think of is to right-click on the Windows taskbar and select Cascade Windows in order to reset them.

Also make sure the chart windows do not have Window >> Always on Top enabled.

In regards to the Trade Windows, use this menu command to reset their position:
Chart Menu: Reset Child Window (Chart menu)

Be sure to read the prior post as well.

When you open a new chart in Sierra Chart, its size and position is controlled by the operating system.

When you are using a Chartbook from another user, the window size and position is going to be up to how that user set them up as of the time they saved the Chartbook.

For any windows within the main Sierra Chart window you can rearrange those with Window >>Tile*.
