Universal Renko chart bar error

I noticed an error in the universal renko chart today on the ES. I am using the Universal Renko chart with a setting of 4-2-6 and I use the globex open (18:00 EST) as the open. Once an open is established, the candle bodies should shift up or down 2 ticks for every new candle for the rest of the day for the 4-2-6 setting. Today, I noticed it was correct for the first 9 bars and then it printed a bar that was only 1 tick higher which then throws the chart off for the rest of the day. The attached jpg (UR.jpg) shows this and compares it to a Ninjatrader uni-Renko chart which is correct. The Universal Renko chart matched the Ninjatrader chart until the 10th bar where the universal renko chart had the aforementioned glitch.

I also looked at the Flex Renko 4-2-0 chart and it had a glitch as well, but of a different nature (see attached jpg FR.jpg).

I use a Universal Renko chart for trading and am considering switching from NinjaTrader to Infinity Futures, but I need this chart to be correct and reliable before I can make this switch. I'd also like to see the new bar fill from the offset immediately when it forms as I mentioned in my previous support request.

1. Is there any chance the universal renko chart can be debugged and made reliable any time in the near future? Or, if you believe the universal renko chart is not in error, can you create a version that matches the NinjaTrader uni-Renko chart? I'm willing to help if necessary.

thanks in advance.

No. Our workload is very heavy. We should be getting to this, this coming week. Along with other Renko chart bar related development we will be doing.

Was this directed toward me, or is this an error? If so, what did I post in what unrelated thread and/or why did you think I was interested in that link? https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/ACSILTrading.html.

My interest is the universal Renko chart - not automated trading.

It is neither. That was response for another user who has subsequently hidden their posting and you can no longer see it.

We are working on Renko bars now. When that version is released you can update to it and reevaluate.

However, we are suspecting, there is not a problem and you are just looking for a certain behavior that is not supported in Sierra Chart. Rather Sierra Chart is showing more precise bars.

We do not want to comment on this, until we are done with the work.

1. OK. great! if you need a beta tester, I'm available and willing.

2. don't understand the precision comment. Not saying you're wrong, but I've never seen a universal Renko chart in which the BODY high could close 1 tick higher than the previous bar BODY high when body size is set to 4 ticks and the offset is set to 2 ticks as I thought I had configured with your universal Renko chart settings of 4-2-6.

fyi - another perspective on the error I believe I observed and reported 9/18:

The bar body in question was 4 ticks (which is correct), but the offset was not -2 ticks, it was -3 ticks (which is incorrect) per my understanding on how the chart should work for a 4-2-6 setting.

Looking forward to testing the new Renko chart.

Thanks in advance,
RR
