Hi, I've asked a third party programmer to develop a drawing tool on Sierra Charts simply by clicking on any price point and up to 30 price levels are drawn above and below the selected price point. The developer has pointed out that there may be limitation as they can use only the advertised front end API.

Can anyone confirm if there maybe limitations.??

Programmer's response below:

The main features of the indicator will be developed i.e. drawing the lines X points apart above/below the Pivot. We will develop as many of the other features that you describe below – however, we are limited by the technical limitations of the APIs provided by Sierra Charts (which will become apparent when we begin development with the latest version of the API – Application Programming Interface).

In particular, a lot of the points below may be subject to the API restrictions:

The colour for each level
The thickness of the level line
Option to have a solid line or dash
Each level will show a value
Option to show level above only or level below only or both above and below (this will be the default}
The tool will draw lines from the higher time frame pivot or wherever you wish to click on the chart and extend forward (the line length should also be variable).

As mentioned below, the tool will be added to the chart as a custom Study. At the very least, I can code in the daily pivot and create the lines above and below automatically.

There are no restrictions preventing them from accomplishing what you require. None at all.

If you require more than 60 levels, then the levels would have to be drawn using the Line Drawing Tool rather than Subgraphs.
