When trying to rollover my ZBU3 to ZBZ3, i always join 180 days of previous data from the old contract. When i tried to do that this time, i could not select the "join previous data" when rolling over. (Attached file shows what i'm referring too.) Also i checked in chart settings to see if "Continuous Futures Contract" was checked, which is was NOT checked & never have checked it since having Sierra. I'm on Transact 1019 verison. Please help to resolve the problem, thank you.

That feature has been replaced by the new Continuous Futures Contract setting:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?l=doc/doc_ContinuousFuturesContractCharts.html

You can also do a manual join by using the join data feature:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?l=doc/doc_JoinIntradayData.php

This last method will accomplish the same thing.

i don't understand why you would get rid of something that has joined a trader's data successful for a number of years
with NO problems. This new continous contract is too taxing since i have 50-60 charts (alot in CL & things that have a monthly rolls. Before i would have one download per chart, now i have like 10. All wanted to do was be able to select to join old data with my new month on rollover. it makes things soo much easier! Any chances about leaving this feature back the way it was??

Also could you explain why this was removed or disabled in the first place?????

Am I missing something here? Please help

This has been reactivated in 1022. The option had been long intended to be removed since it is not considered the best way to do a rollover because the changes are permanent and the data from the prior contract is merged into the file named for a different contract.

We did not want to remove it until the Continuous Futures Contract option was fully debugged. But we can leave it for now.

For joining large amounts of data like you are doing, that was really intended to be done by the Edit >> Join Intraday Data interface.

My old fashioned way was to just rename the old contracts data file with the new contract month.
Works for me...

My first post in ages... hope the user name is correct...

Yep...looks ok..... golly one thing went right for the day : )

Do you know how long until the Continuous Future Contract option is fully debugged (long platform startup times- running 10-12 mins for me, and when trading it has to load every contract for that chart/product). Been really frustrated lately with no choice but to use the Contin. Future contract option.

2nd- it says you guys reactivated the old rollover/ combining data option, but i tried that and still i'm not allowed to do that. (Chart>> Perform futures symbol rollover)<refer to my first post's picture that i sent>

Thank you for all the help in this support forum, i learn alot and the help is greatly appreciated.

The Continuous Futures Contract option as it is currently designed, is fully debugged but we do plan changes with it before the end of this year which will significantly improve the performance of it. It should be several times faster.

We did reactivate the previous Join Intraday Data feature on the Futures Contract Rollover window. Not sure why it is not working for you. Make sure you are on the latest version and we will test it now and see what the problem is.

Also please keep in mind as we previously said, you can still join data files together. Here is the documentation for that:

As long as the Continuous Futures Contract option in Chart Settings is disabled and the chart is an Intraday chart, then the Join Previous Data option should be enabled.
