Make chart running from right to left (instead of the opposite which is the usual way)

Thank you.

+1.

I've also had the same desire, for the exact same reason.
I've held back from asking, because I know how busy you guys are.
But this would be great to have.

Years ago, my dad was a Human Factors psychologist, designing control panels for military fighter jets, and studying how to optimize the display for the split-second decisions that fighter pilots need to make to stay alive. This is a similar situation!

CHTrader, what I've been doing in the meantime is putting the "Current Price Line" study on the items on the right-hand charts that are the key numbers I need to see, and setting the Value Label for those chart studies to show on the Left Edge of the chart. I still need to move my eyes all the way to the right when I want to see the whole picture, but this does give me quick access to those key numbers. It's not a complete solution, and not as elegant as what you're suggesting, but I do find it helpful.

So you are saying that the timescale would actually be descending timewise when looking at it from the left side going towards the right side of the chart.

The problem is, this is inherently a very difficult thing to accomplish with the way everything is currently designed.

Actually, this might be possible just simply by using a custom study which reverses the order of the data.

We will run a test.

The chart would look like one is watching it in a mirror or otherwise put: pivot the chart by 180 degrees around its vertical axis. In anyway, it should run from right to left, the last price should always be at the left side of the chart.
So let's wait with what you will be coming up.

We put together a basic study which accomplishes this.

You can have a look and see if it does what you need. It will be in the next release. It is named Reverse Copy of Base Graph.

It is not particularly efficient and is fine to reverse the last hundred bars or so. More work could be done but we cannot commit more time to do it.

Will you be publishing the source for this?
I'm starting to feel comfortable with ACSIL.
If what you've put together is a good starting point, I may be able to take it further.

Actually one thing that we need to make clear is that all we accomplished was the reversing of the main price graph bars.

Not the studies.

That could be done but it is not something we can commit time too. So in the end what we did may not really be useful for what you need.

Also we improved the efficiency of the study.
