Hi, I'd like to know if its currently possible to extend the point of control (until future intersection) on the numbers bars?

I know its possible to highlight the POC but an extended line would be very useful for referencing past POC values.

Thanks for any help

A basic implementation will be out in the next release of Sierra Chart supporting this. This is version 1570.

It will be controlled through the Highlight Point of Control In Input with the Numbers Bars study.

I am not sure why one would want to extend a POC within number bars, but an even better fonctionality would be to be able to extend "unfinished business". Unfinished business occurs at the top or bottom of a number bar, and shows market orders on both buy/sell side, eg: 200 X 150. Even if this corresponds to 2 different prices on the same line, this shows a level where price will revisit, especially so with important volume.
This would mean the the notion of "unfinished business" would need to be implemented, along with tha bility to extend the levels. This is basic Footprint analysis and would be a great addition to anyone observing number bars.

What is the exact definition of unfinished business? It is not clear from what you are describing. It should not be difficult to implement.

Sorry for the reference, but that's the 1st link the search returned: https://footprintchart.com/see-inside-the-chart-1/2016/02/19/unfinished-auction-aka-unfinished-business

Basically numbers on eac side at the top or at the bottom of a bar : 200 x 100, 10 x 89, 56 x 23 etc..

As opposed to a 0 x 200, 0 x 25, 30 x 0, etc...

Hope this makes sense.

Please note that the IDEAL implementation of this functionality would be to be able to define an extension line with a different colour line, depending on if the unfinished auction happens at the top OR bottom of a number bar.

yes except all Footprint platforms do include unfinished auction highlight and extension lines natively, so if SC want to reamin on top of the game, this would be good to have it included without the need to go and buy external develompent.

In regards to post #7, the following new Input to the Numbers Bars study will be added to the next release to support that:
Highlight Nonzero Bid&Ask Vol at High/Low

Documentation will be prepared.

It will also support extension lines.

We cannot help with a vague statement like this. "doesn't work", means absolutely nothing to us.

Start a New Support Request and tell us specifically what you are doing, what you expect, and provide a chart image following these instructions:

It doesn't draw the extended line for non zero, IF you also have the POC highlited with extension line by the look of it.

We do understand the problem now with this additional information and it is now resolved and will have a new release out in a couple of hours.

It took you more time to reply your arrogant comment than it would have had to test it. Don't you test what you implement?
Yes we do test what we implement, and your comment about "arrogant" is taken as a compliment. We do appreciate that and we mean that.

And there is a big difference between a few words, and a 300 page novel. We are not asking for a 300 page novel. But your few words statement that it does not work actually demonstrates a level of disregard towards us. We cannot figure out a problem, when we have insufficient information.

Thank you.

Lack of details is not disregard to you at all, we just have different jobs and we see things differently, that's all. At first sight, the extend line option did not display an extended line. It then appeared that it was only if the POC extension option was on. It took troubleshooting and was not obvious, an nor is it my job to do it, just as much as I don't ask you to trade for me as this is not your job. No disregard in there, just a fact.

You clearly tend to be annoyed and feel offended easiloy and frequently, probably de to the volume of requests that you get, which is understandable, but there is no need to be sarcastic/arrogant, and this is really not a compliment. You guys are really good at what you do, and very reactive, and that is a compliment.
