Trying to figure out exactly why this occurred. I lost internet during the night as logs show disconnect, reconnect. However, when I sat down this morning. platform was receiving data, all charts were up to date, i noticed my spreadsheet had no data but right after i looked at the spreadsheet to see the data, the spreadsheet started to calculate data again.

Why would a disconnect/reconnect stop spreadsheet from calculating data until I looked at the open active tab of the spreadsheet?

We need to understand this better. We do not know exactly what you initially saw and then what you later saw when you say it is calculating again. And if you did anything to cause the calculations.

There should not be a problem. Although if there is, it could be very hard for us to figure it out, if you cannot reproduce the problem.

my spreadsheet columns had 0's until I clicked on the spreadsheet tab, than my formulas started to show me data other than '0'.

I may not be able to reproduce this problem, but its not a problem I want to happen again. Had I been running a trading system algo with it, It would have caused some horrible losses.

We will do our best to determine what the problem is.

If you see something like this again, could you please take a screenshot of it and provide that.

I'd be happy to share more in depth, I just can't do it on a public forum.

So I was able to reproduce the problem. While Sierracharts was running, I disconnected my ethernet for a few minutes, plugged back in. Waited an hour to be sure after plugging back in. The spreadsheet has 0's while i was away even though sierracharts reconnected immediately on its own after plugging ethernet back in. the spreadsheet immediately begins processing the formula when i click on sierracharts upon returning to computer. I'm not sure if its an active window thing or the data which is DOM related isn't available until its the active window. Here's a screenshot.Column K has my formula where you'll see 0's.

Without knowing the formulas and how they work, and please do not provide any information about that unless we ask because it is not going to be useful to us, the zeros you see in column K might be normal.

the spreadsheet immediately begins processing the formula when i click on sierracharts upon returning to computer.
So when you did this, then those zeros we see in the attached spreadsheet in column K, do they then become nonzero values?

Zero values are not normal, would be highly unusual. The zero values would remain zero values as the formula only cares about K3 and retains the last value before new bar, in this case, 10 second bar.

To summarize problem: Server disconnect/reconnect while sierracharts is minimized or not active window stops spreadsheets study from calculating DOM data in my formula.

It's almost as if DOM data goes radio silent till sierracharts becomes active window.

We will need to set up a time to look at this with remote assistance. It will need to be after the close sometime.

Ok. The dom data that is used in my spreadsheet formula comes from a custom study that's a carbon copy of your 'depth of market' study but is using stack/pull dom data instead. Wondering if that helps in any way if its related to that.

This is still pending follow-up.

What we want you to do is to detach that spreadsheet with Window >> Detach/Detach Window.

Minimize that detached Spreadsheet window.

Disconnect with File >> Disconnect.

Wait a couple of minutes and reconnect.

Are you able to reproduce the problem?
