Trading in Sub Account, same broker, same data feed

I have read the pages on running and trading from "multiple instances of Sierra Chart" and using the DTC Server. However, my question is a bit different.

I am trading multiple accounts through the same broker, and using the same data feed, CQG. I trade in the sub account to keep commodities separate for our accounting purposes. So, one sub account will trade crude oil, one heating oil, one rbob, etc. When enabling an autotrader though, it continually places all of the trades in only one account, no matter which account is selected on the DOM associated with the chart / chartbook. I run separate chartbooks for each commodity as well, and chart within is linked to a DOM with the separate account selected.

Because it is with the same broker / feed, can this be done more simply than going the multiple instances route?

You need to choose what account you want to trade in. This is done for each individual chart/Trade DOM. Refer to:
Basic Trading and the Trade Window: Main/C >> Trade Account (Selecting Trade Account for Chart / Trade DOM)

When enabling an autotrader though, it continually places all of the trades in only one account, no matter which account is selected on the DOM associated with the chart / chartbook.
The reason for this is explained here:

You are setting the account on the wrong Trade Window. There can be no doubt about this if what you are saying is correct.

and chart within is linked to a DOM with the separate account selected.
We do not know exactly how you have set up the Chart Linking.

Because it is with the same broker / feed, can this be done more simply than going the multiple instances route?
Yes.
