Demo Trading in SC - Shutting down PC with Positions and Orders active

I have had a look thorough the documentation here: If I am in Demo trading through the SC demo feature and I turn off my machine with Open Positions and orders still in the market, when I turn my machine back on and re-open SC, I thought that downloaded data (given that I am storing historical data in 4 second chunks), would identify (approximate) at what price my orders would have been filled retrospectively in time since the data is there. At the moment, you can see price either hits target or hits stop (once the data has downloaded, but if price has come back between the two orders i.e. Target and Stop) the position in SC Demo remains Open but in reality it would have been closed. Is this correct? |

What you are referring to is Sierra Chart Trade Simulation Mode. The behavior you see now is correct. Historical data does not fill orders unless a chart is replaying. This confirms what I thought then. I guess the only solution would be for me to leave the machine on if I have orders or positions on or host SC on a hosted desktop so it is always on.Thanks for the update. |
