My Auto Trading Enabled has a check mark against it. I have confirmed this. I even disabled it and re-enabled it.

However I am getting this error message:

Auto-Trade Management: Automated Trading is disabled. Trade Action not performed. Select Trade >> Auto Trading Enabled to enable. | 2013-08-16 07:09:59

Up until a few minutes ago it was fine (Sell Entry was correctly executed) but now I am seeing this.

This has happened once before and it sorted itself out when I unchecked and then rechecked the Auto Trading Enabled.

Any idea what might be going on?

(It just happened again... seems that the entry orders go through but the exit orders I get the message that Auto Trading must be enabled. Strange.)

We have now tested this and we cannot duplicate the problem and this is the first time we've ever heard of an issue like this and we find it next to impossible that you would get that message if Automated Trading Enabled is checked.

There really is zero or next to zero percent chance of something like this:

The more likely scenario of what is actually going on is that the menu is not really showing the correct state of the internal variable which controls whether automated trading is enabled or not.

This is unlikely and there's not really a known case of this but that would be a more reasonable explanation and might be a fault at the operating system level.

Thank you for looking into it. If you have not seen this problem before that suggests some local issue.

BTW, I noticed that I do not run into this problem while I am testing in Sim mode.

I am using Windows 7. If you happen to think of a possible explanation later, please let me know.

If I figure out the source of this 'bug' I'll send you the details; perhaps it might help you.

Thanks.

Could it be because the same spreadsheet study is applied to several symbols (each on its own sheet/tab, but all in the same spreadsheet)? Suppose I'm trading ES and NQ and then I decide to stop trading NQ but keep trading ES. So I toggle the J28(?) cell on the NQ tab but keep ES unchanged. Could that create a conflict?

This will be my last post on the topic. It's unreasonable to ask you to spend more time on this. I have sent an Account ticket to ask for paid support. Thanks.

If you are not noticing the problem in Simulation mode, then there might be a misunderstanding of the error messages you are seeing.

If at the same moment in time you see a message in the Trade >> Trade Service Log that automated trading is not enabled and there is a checkmark by Trade >> Auto Trading Enabled then this is not right. At that time, we could use remote assistance to look into this. But it's really hard for us to believe this condition would exist.

This is fine and will not cause a problem.

This is exactly what is going on and last night I noticed it in SIM Mode as well. This is why I am asking for someone to troubleshoot for a few minutes on the phone. You may recall that I was saying that stuff is firing randomly. I'm beginning to think this issue is possibly connected with that.
Somehow, SC is having problems with identifying and/or displaying its Auto Trade Enabled/Disabled state.

Let me know what you decide re: remote assistance. It doesn't make sense to keep going back and forth on the Support Board.
