SC Team - Running into a strange issue with second DTC instance of Sierra.

Instance 1 (launched in admin mode):
Data Feed - Rithmic

Instance 2(launched in admin mode):
Data Feed - Ameritrade ( In this instance - I can open the chart here from Instance 1)

Instance 3(DTC): (File -> New Instance from Instance 2):
- From this instance - Find Symbol Doesn't give me an option to pick the symbol from Instance 1 or Instance 2 - It simply is grayed out.
However - when I save a chartbook from Instance 2 (a symbol from Instance 1) and then open in Instance 3, it works fine.

Would you please help resolve this issue?

Thanks

Thanks

As a workaround - I have launched the instance 3 (manually from "SierraChartInstance_2" as administrator - and I could open the symbol from Instance 1).

It appears like - when a sub-instance is launched it is not being launched as an administrator - preventing opening a chart from other running instances.

Thanks

SC Team - Yes, it's a work around as a solution it's fine so far.

However - it would be nice if there is an option to launch subinstance in admin mode using File->New Instance in admin mode - if possible. Either way - I am fine at present.

Thanks

This will be solved in the next release. The ability to open chart data files from other instances was intentionally disabled in an instance opened with File >> New Instance.

We do not remember the reasoning. We probably just wanted to avoid confusion for less experienced users.

Test the functionality in the next version and let us know if it works OK.
