previous to current version (1445), i was using an instance of sierra in its own folder purely for entering trades to IB. i had the trade window visible on each chart in a chartbook. i reduced the size of the entire program window just to make the trading buttons visible only, and not the actual chart itself, which were running from a different broker from a different instance. when i upgraded to 1518, the chart becomes corrupted when the sc main window becomes smaller than a certain dimension

if i double-click the yellow line in the 2nd pic, the chart restores inside the window until i make the window smaller again. basically there's not a way to make the entire window shrunk down to where only the trade buttons and bottom chart tabs are showing, like in 1445

We cannot reproduce this. We have no other reports of this.

Also a problem like this is going to be an operating system level problem. Why you see it in one version and not another we do not know. But newer versions of Sierra Chart are built using a newer version of Visual C++.

There is nothing we can do to help with this other than to recommend that you use a different computer. You must test on a different computer.

This behavior is not within the control of Sierra Chart and Sierra Chart is not causing this behavior. It is the operating system causing the unusual behavior you are seeing. Not Sierra Chart. Please understand that.

And once again, we cannot reproduce this and no one else is reporting this. We are intimately familiar with Sierra Chart and when we hear about strange window related issues it is extremely obvious to us that it is an operating system-level problem and it is not something caused by Sierra Chart.

So you need to use a different system, use a different version of the operating system. And do a new installation of the operating system and test Sierra Chart on a fresh installation of the operating system.

It is not going to help ask us further about this.

Also, it just occurred to us that you may have hidden the title bar of the chart window. Do not do that!

That is probably the source of the problem. Title bars should not be removed from charts. Although Sierra Chart provides this capability because people ask for it, you can create consequences for yourself by doing that because the operating system is going to have problems when you do things like that.

Actually, we now remember that someone else did point out this issue.

It is an operating system level problem and we have updated the documentation about this here now:
Chart Menu: Show Title Bar (Chart menu)

In this screenshot clearly we do not see a title bar:

Why is that? So you are saying the operating system has removed it on its own?

they are not showing in the screenshot, correct, but i have them enabled

my guess is, the chartbook got pulled through several sc versions over time and got corrupted

i recreated a new chartbook from scratch and all is well . .

Does not make sense to us. We would think it would be just fine.

Makes no sense to us either. Might be something though related to the internal window placement structure.
