[User Discussion] - Volume At Price at a particular level

Is there a way I can access any imbalances at a level or above a level in sierra. I was looking at the volume at price threshold alert v2 which is a huge improvement, but it is only comparing 2 prices. A competitor uses an indicator called volume by price pattern (I can link to it privately if you want to) which I used in the past that lets you look at imbalances at 4 levels underneath or above each other. This is particularly useful if you want to see certain patterns for exhaustion. Is there any way this could be improved in sierra?

I also wanted to know if there is a way from a spreadsheet study to see bid/ask data?

Thank you so much for your help.

This really requires custom programming. You can modify the existing Volume at Price Threshold Alert V2 study.

Refer to:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/BuildCustomStudiesDLL.html

You need to use ACSIL to access the Volume at Price data.

We have coded this kind of sequential decline indicator:

and are familiar with the logic and rationale used within other platforms' Price Volume Pattern extensions.

Please feel free to get in touch if you'd like to discuss further including bespoke development: info AT emojitrading DOT com

Thank you for getting back to me.

What I don't understand is that this indicator has multitude of sub graphs (signals) so how can you know which one triggered. Even to change how the signal look I have to change a lot of subgraphs and I don't understand why because the signal is for the same settings but triggers ?

So in order to achieve what I was asking about above, you are referring to referencing multiple instances of the indicator and get a signal when for example all 4 indicators are beneath/above each other?

I need to make sure I am not going to go down into a rabbit hole.

Thank you

This indicator uses various subgraphs to enable the highlighting of the volume zone at the bid or ask experiencing a sequential decline in volume.

It sounds like you're looking to identify a specific price level where a condition has occurred, e.g.

ask volume at price X > 500 and 3x (ask volume at price X+1 tick) and 5x (ask volume at price X+2 ticks)

This would be custom work but relatively simple based upon current experience. Perhaps best to enter into direct dialogue via
info AT emojitrading DOT com rather than fill the board with a private discussion.

binary duke, the question I asked was directed to sierra. Sorry if it seems that I answered you directly but I was writing the message in the morning and happened to post it before I have seen yours. I will message you separately but my original question is directed to sierra to understand if what I am after can be done using volume at price alert v2.

So would appreciate if sierra can get back to me please.
