Hi - I am new to Sierra and trying to start the 2 week trial and add real time futures data for the NASDAQ during my trial.

Reading your documentation this is possible by paying $5 for your "Sierra Chart Real-Time and Historical Exchange" Data Feed.

So I added $6 credit to my account (User name **) and then tried to navigate my way through the totally confusing process (little wonder you get so many communications about futures data) of setting up the service/feeds.

So I work my way through the page and get to select 'activate feeds' - thinking this would take me into a selection process and there would be an option to choose the Sierra feed mentioned above but, instead it said I had not selected feeds and listed the normal exchanges but no sign of the trial sierra one I was seeking.

So I deactivated the feed to start again hoping I could find the selection somewhere else. Only now, $5 of the credit I had just loaded has disappeared leaving just $1 in the account - and I havent even got the application process for a demo done yet!!??

Please can you help me? BY the way - I also tried to follow the various 'instruction' links and get a sense of correct process and selection but just ended getting more and more confused.

If you guys think its frustrating to receive an overabundance of calls relating to the subject of Futures data - you should try being a first time user trying to navigate your docco and progress with no help.

As you make it plain this is a massive frustration for the majority of your staff who would rather focus on the technical side of your business, please take this as a constructive criticism/suggestion that better quality process docco that has been walk through tested by a virgin user would reduce your enquiry overhead significantly. Cheers...Paul Britton

There were 2 issues:

1. The trial was deactivated. We have resolved this for you be reactivating it.

2. The Exchange Agreements need to be signed:

Based upon what you said we do not see how we can make this process any easier and it is a straightforward as can be.

One thing to be aware of is that when you deactivate the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed "Real-time Connection" like you did, that prevents you from being able to activate an exchange and when you do you will get an error message. You also need to sign the agreement as we said. And beside each exchange that you can activate, there is a link to sign the agreement. And it indicates that is required.

Let us know what exchange you want activated we will do that for you but you first need to sign agreement that we linked to in the prior post.

If you want the NASDAQ exchange, then the fee is 10.5 USD per month. There is no trial.

Also in regards to our comments about futures data, that is very valid. And there is nothing we can do to make that process any easier.

There is one problem that we are aware of and that is that when you activate a Sierra Chart exchange data feed trial and then you deactivate it and prevent your account from activating exchange, only an administrator can reactivate the trial.

We are going to give the user the ability to reactivate the trial also. And we will also look over the error message displayed when you try to activate an exchange when there is a pending cancellation of the account at the end of the month which is the case with you deactivating the Real Time Data Connection.
