The ZZ Study is not working accurately. I have tried it using calc mode 2 and 3, neither one works accurately on a consistent basis. I have tried the minimum bars for reversal set to 0 and 1, this also does not work. Sometimes it turns on the reversal amount and other times it does not.

We will look into this when we are able to. It is not something we can get to quickly.

Do you notice any issues when using Calculation Mode 1.

Don't I only use Calculation mode 2 or 3, not 1.

I know you are very busy and you do a great job constantly updating and improving this platform.

The Technical Studies Reference states that the minimum retracement amount must be exceeded.

To compare the Zigzag with the Point and Figure, The P&F turns exactly, everytime at the reversal amount, it does not need to be exceeded and the ZZ needs to have the minimum retracement amount by exceeded by 1 tick.

So, if you are using a 1 tick chart and the main graph is a P&F chart and you apply the ZZ study to the P&F, you set the ZZ reversal amount at 1 tick less than the P&F reversal amount, and they should turn at the exact same price everytime, and they do.

But if you make a separate 1 tick chart with the ZZ set at minimum retracement amount 1 tick less than the reversal amount of a separate 1 tick P&f chart, they do not always turn at the same time.

Whenever you find the time to look into this it will be greatly appreciated.

This is working correctly. The first ZZ you show as missing is picked up, but gets replaced when the later pivot exceeds it. The second ZZ you show as missing is not picked up because it does not "exceed" the reversal amount. You have the reversal amount set to 2.0, and the ZZ has a depth of 2.0, which does not exceed the reversal amount.

The documentation for the ZZ study (http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?l=doc/doc_TechnicalStudiesReference.html#s133) explains how the lines are calculated.

If you really want a ZZ to trigger at 2.0, you should specify a reversal amount of 1.99.

Al,

Thank you very much for instructing me on the right way to format this study, also for responding so quickly!

I wrongly assumed that the minimum retracement amount had to be a "tick increment", but you showed me that it can be set at less than a "tick increment", to get it right.

Very Much Appreciated,

George
