Manually opened a few small chartbooks (rather than the bulk open at start up) and it seems to be ok now.

We see that Chartbook is slow to open, but that is not necessarily unusual because of the large amount of data it is loading and the complexity of it.

We do see a lot of custom studies being used. Those might be the source of the problem. Start Sierra Chart in Safe Mode. Refer to help topic 17.1:

We do not have any clear recognition of the problem but there is an issue that may be related which we are devoting full-time to now.

Problems involving high load on the CPU are always extremely difficult for us to understand the source of and in most cases there is nothing we can do.

Your Chartbook already presents a high load to the CPU so there may not really be anything we can do about that. It could be that your Chartbook is on the verge of overloading your system and just due to the overall configuration of the new version and the way that your CPU is running it, you have gone over the ability of your system.

So at this time, avoid the new versions until we can resolve a potentially related problem.

We do not have anything further to say at this time.

If you are using the new Large Volume Trade Indicator study, it would not surprise us if that put your already high load CPU Chartbook over the ability of your system.

We do not have any answers at this point in time.

It is a high CPU load Chartbook.

Even under our debug build, while it did take about three or four minutes to fully load all of the Intraday charts, it did load.

One other thing we did point out is for you to use Safe Mode.

If that resolves the problem, then the issue is going to be with custom studies and why we are not totally sure. The developers of those studies will need to evaluate that.
