When you type text on a chart window and it changes the symbol, is there any way to access this string in the ASCIL interface?

No this is not supported. Did you want to modify study Inputs through the keyboard? This is something we plan to add longer-term. Yes that's exactly what I want to do. I see there is a ChartWindowHandle variable and was wondering if that might be a way to read off the window text, but I'm not that familiar with the Windows API.

Yes but that is not very reliable. We recommend waiting until we develop the capability for changing study inputs directly from the chart. We will try to get started on that in a month or two. +1 I would also like to see this feature (modify study inputs through keyboard) added which would add a great deal more flexibility to SC; having to go through menu's all the time can be painful especially when you have study inputs you are frequently wanting to adjust/change. |

Keep in mind that the actual text format of changing a study Input through the keyboard is not going to be that simple because you have to assemble a properly formatted text string.
