I was wondering if you could please add the following three calculations to the table in the Numbers Bars Calculated Values study:

1. Diagonal Ask Volume Bid Volume Difference

2. Diagonal Max Ask Volume Bid Volume Difference

3. Diagonal Min Ask Volume Bid Volume Difference

Thank you.

When we have time. Please allow up to 6 months.

For 1 do you mean the total of all of those differences?

For #1 please use the same logic as the standard "Ask Volume Bid Volume Difference (SG1)" calculation in the same study, except diagonally. You can probably recycle some of that code from the "Ask Bid Vol Difference Diagonal" in the Numbers Bars study, under "Numbers Bars Text", although I'm only interested in displaying the total per bar on a table below the chart. Thanks a lot!

OK we will try to work this in near-term.

This inherently does not make sense:
For #1 please use the same logic as the standard "Ask Volume Bid Volume Difference (SG1)" calculation in the same study, except diagonally.

The total Ask Volume and Bid Volume are known for a chart bar and the difference is calculated between them. You cannot do this diagonally. The only kind of logic that we can think of that would make sense is to calculate at each price level the difference between Ask Volume and Bid Volume diagonally and then sum those differences.

The reason this has gotten delayed is because the request is inherently confusing and unclear.

2. Diagonal Max Ask Volume Bid Volume Difference

3. Diagonal Min Ask Volume Bid Volume Difference
These are impossible to add without extensive work and complexity and we would not do that even for full payment which could be at least 1000 USD. It is completely out of consideration.

OK I figured out why you were confused by my request - same reason why I got confused too. Some of the terminology that SC used during the development of the Numbers Bars and the Numbers Bars Calculated Values studies is ambiguous.

Specifically, in the Numbers Bars study the "Ask Bid Vol Difference" text corresponds to the horizontal deltas at each price level instead of the difference between the Ask Volume Total and the Bid Volume Total for the entire bar, which is also called "Ask Volume Bid Volume Difference" in the Numbers Bars Calculated Values study.

So "Ask Bid Vol Difference" (Numbers Bars study) does not equal "Ask Volume Bid Volume Difference" (Numbers Bars Calculated Values study) even though both variable names covey the same meaning in natural language.

That's all right, I wasn't expecting you to spend an inordinate amount of time on this or any of my future projects because I know you are all very busy doing a fantastic job over there. Besides, I now realize that nothing extra would have been gained from it mathematically.

Finally, you wrote: The reason this has gotten delayed is because the request is inherently confusing and unclear. In the future, I would recommend that you do not sit on a client's request that you find confusing and instead contact the client immediately for further clarification - the burden should be on the client, not you.

Thank you.

We understand your point, but in the case of the Numbers Bars Calculated Values study, the documentation does make it clear what Ask Volume Bid Volume Difference means. Also because the Numbers Bars Calculated Values study only has one value per Subgraph per chart bar, means that it is encompassing all of the values for a Numbers Bar. This is implied.
