I have a friend that has a brokerage account with AMP.

He wants to trade stocks using Sierra with TD Ameritrade.
He created a new account with Sierra with new user name and password assigned to him during the process. So far so good!
He has downloaded your software for this instance of Sierra supposedly unrelated to AMP
Sure enough there is a new Icon on the desktop. When it is clicked it opens the new instance but it is the AMP software and a change in the Data source to your free trial or TD Ameritrade does not connect. I do not know what to advise them. I have the same two different instances on my computer, one with AMP and the second with Interactive and have no problem.
I am trying to be helpful but I do not know how to straighten out the problem.
A free trial is not necessary and they can pay for Package 3 and move on to TD.
What do I tell them.?

We will need to see the Message Log from that copy of Sierra Chart they want to use with TD Ameritrade.

Here are the instructions.

Provide a copy of the Message Log by following these instructions:

Also would be helpful if they can tell us what folder on their Computer that copy of Sierra Chart was installed into that they want to use with TD Ameritrade.
