Changing Target Size Leaves Incorrect Target/Stop

Using an OCO with 5 targets. Once filled, if I change individual target amounts via the New Quantity and Price window from the DOM , leaving the total contracts the same, when the stop is hit, all orders are cancelled correctly, but it still shows me with a position.

If I scale into the position, half at a time, and do the same target size adjustment described above, when stopped out, it correctly shows me flat, but leaves a target order.

Only when I leave all original orders alone, does the complete OCO order behave correctly.

Stumped??

We need more details. And a very specific example we can follow. As simple as possible that still shows the problem.

We need to know the order quantities and specifically what orders you are adjusting.

I created a 5 target, one stop OCO; each target is two contracts. When I adjust quantities on two targets in the DOM (keeping the total contracts constant - adjusting one target down, and the other up by the same amount), after a target is filled, and then the stop is hit, I am either left with an 'orphan' target, or no orders and a position. I have tried this with all in (one order), or scaling in half and half - same problem.

We understand this better now and what you are experiencing is normal behavior because each of the 5 targets establishes a separate OCO Group. So if you increase the quantity of a Target in its OCO group but the stop has a lower quantity, it is going to cause the Target to still remain when the stop fills.

Actually, as we think about this, there is a simple solution. On the Trade Window for the chart or Trade DOM enable Menu >>Maintain Same Quantity for OCO Group Orders.

Will this work if I scale in, say half and half?

It's hard for us to say because we do not have a clear enough understanding of specifically what you are doing. Just simply try.
