I keep getting these endless messages each time I start up Sierra. Almost always about some ICE exchange info over and over again which has no meaning to me. Every time..over and over for months/years now.

Regardless of the fact that they are never important..Is there some way Sierra could send these messages via email or some normal messaging system rather than interfering with my getting my charting up and running?

Messaging has nothing to do with charting and should not overlap and not interfere with my charting platform..The should not be related in any way. Please find a more normal way to get these messages to your customers rather than treating them as a subset of charting.

If you enable the option on the System Notification Window: "Do not show this again" it will not show again unless it contains an embedded timestamp or there has been some change to the overall messages displayed.

We are absolutely not going to change the way essential messages are communicated. The System Notification Window is extremely essential. Whether you think they are important or not, they are important to communicate to users and are about the software and related services.

That will not change. We think we know what message you are referring to and it can be removed now.

We could not disagree more:
Messaging has nothing to do with charting and should not overlap and not interfere with my charting platform

This would be hugely detrimental and prevent us from communicating essential information to users which they must be aware of. The use of email is inherently unreliable because of failed message delivery, invalid email addresses, and the fact that users may not check their email.

OK we see what the problem is. In your case you are running an older version of Sierra Chart. You need to update.

Same old song and dance I always hear, you need to update... Updating will improve nothing, never has regarding this issue and never will. Checking the never show box also does nothing.

The problem is the messages are never important and they interfere with the charting function. Two different worlds that should not overlap.

But you guys are stuck in your paradigm and will not move forward, sadly..

This forum is usually the same, you simply blame all problems on the user, updating, and are usually totally inflexible(as in this case)

You do not normally need to update. We suggest that especially being you are using Interactive Brokers and all of the problems that exist with Interactive Brokers and the patches that we have to apply.

And just in case there is a rare case where there was some issue with the System Notification Message that we resolved. Although we do not recall this.

This does not make sense:
Checking the never show box also does nothing.

We do not have any other reports of this and this makes no sense why there would be a problem unless there is an embedded timestamp in one of the messages. We would have to see the complete text of what you are seeing. Post the complete text here.

This is completely untrue that we blame problems on the user. And you know that. And we are not even doing that here.

We only mention updating if that is required. And there are some things we must be inflexible on. And we will be inflexible on this because there should be no problem here and no one else is having a problem. Provide us the text of the message that you are seeing. You can view it in the web browser, and paste it here.

Actually the reason we said to update in this case, is the message will no longer appear with the newer versions.
