The message log for loading three chartbooks with 999 shows 80 seconds load time.

The message log for loading the same three chartbooks with 1000 shows 172 seconds load time.

That's a 115% increase in load time with 1000 (using TT FIX with Velocity).

Every time I've used 1000, it seems a lot slower than previous releases.

It sounds like you are referring to historical data downloading time?

The Message Log does not show the time it takes to load a Chartbook. We have never logged that information.

Concerning the times I posted from the message log: Apparently those times are for historical data download, yes. I included those times merely as a reference that might perhaps be beneficial to SC Engineering in their effort to understand my concerns. Sorry, that didn't go in the direction I hoped it would go.

What I'm referring to (i.e., my concern or issue) is the fact that, for me, SC 1000 loads chartbooks much slower than previous releases.

Are you aware of this?

Is it intentional? (After all, 1000 is a "pre-release")

Can I reasonably expect an improvement in chartbook loading performance with future releases?

Is there any other information I can provide to assist you in resolving this critical issue?

I had a similar problem some weeks ago updating from 967. Chartbooks were slow loading, saving, adjusting scaling, reload and calculate were painfully slow. Rebuilding my spreadsheets from a clean spreadsheet and copying the formula rows one at a time fixed all the problems.

I solved the problem by performing a "Full Reset" of the Global Symbol Settings after installing r1000, as previously instructed by SC here on the forum, if I recall correctly.

So, the problem turns out to be that I have no way to save and import previous changes to the symbol table, since that's the reason I skipped the Full Reset to begin with. Sorry, I had forgotten about skipping that. Yet, it only took me about an hour. Small price to pay, I suppose, for the privilege of using SC.

We see no reason why Chartbooks would load slower on version 1000. We will have to get your Chartbook to test. Otherwise, we would not know the reason for the problem.

We also see no reason why resetting the Symbol settings would have any impact upon this at all. If you exit from Sierra Chart, and go to the Sierra Chart installation folder you will see a backup copy of your symbol settings and you can restore it by deleting the GlobalSymbolSettings.XML file and renaming the one with the most recent date.

To provide your Chartbook you can send it to support _ AT_ Sierra Chart.com.

There are no recent changes which would affect the loading of Chartbooks. We tested the Currencies Minutes Chartbook. We see nothing unusual about it. It opened up in one second. We closed it and reopened it multiple times. It always opened up immediately.

Please refer to help topic 30 here:

If your Chartbooks are not loading up in a matter of just a few seconds, then the issue has to be with your system.
