Question on deployed files

Once I've deployed some files and gave permissions to individuals, If I remove their permission do the files get deleted from their computers so that they no longer have access? I'm assuming the files are downloaded, if not are they just visible/usable and actually reside remotely?

Same question for time interval once exceeded.

Same question for file regardless of file type (.dll, chartbook, etc)

I'm also aware of the "IsUserAllowedForSCDLLName" security mechanism to prevent unauthorized usage, but I'm really trying to understand how the permissions, when removed, affect the physical file if anything. I'm guessing the file remains downloaded but unusable.

The files remain and they can still be used. In the case of a custom study, unless it is protected with sc.IsUserAllowedForSCDLLName it certainly can continue to be used.

Otherwise, there is no protection at all.

So the bottom line is, if I want to only allow users that I give permission to to use the library/studies...use the sc.IsUserAllowedForSCDLLName for each study. Also the file will persist on users computers even though permissions have been taken away.

Yes this is correct.

We would never delete files.

Yes this is correct.

The only thing you can do is password protect built in studies, and also protect custom studies from being used.
