So, I tried adding my personal wave (.WAV) file to an alert and I see another sound playing instead.
I also have attributed the right file in the Alerts tab inside Color bar based on ALert condition.

Any reason why?

Follow through the instructions here:
http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/GeneralSettings.html#AlertSoundSettings

Also use the "Test Sound" button to actually test the sound file.

I followed it but my wav file plays in windows right but when tested within Sierra it plays a generic sound and not what is recorded in it.

Therefore it sounds as though there is some incompatibility. We do not know how to help with this.

Are you recording voice or some other sound?

The file must be incompatible.

Use the Text to Speech feature:

Any comment here without resorting to a chargeable solution of text to speech?

-Is your .wav file located in your Sierra \AlertSounds folder?
-Have you assigned your .wav file to an Alert# at Global Settings >> General Settings >> Alerts/General3 tab?
-Have you selected the Alert Sound where the alert originates?
