Hello,

I perform a manual backtest - scrolling the chart bar by bar with keyboard. Is there any easy way to copy values (time, close, open) for a particular bar? I thought about using (Compact) Tool Values Window or Chart Values Window, however, I didn't find any way how to select and copy the values. Is this somehow possible please?
----------------

Is there any possibility how to copy the chart values automatically to the spreadsheet? For example:
Time -> Column A
Open -> Column B
Close -> Column C

I used to work with BackTestHelper for Ninja Trader where it is possible to customize values for entries and exits and copy them to the to the spreadsheet. I wonder if there is any similar function in SC. BackTestHelper link: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/788150/BacktestHelper/BTH-Settings.html?v=3.14.3.928

Thank you,
Robert

Yes. You need to use the Spreadsheet study:

I studied the documentation for the Spreadsheet study and I didn't find any clue how to use the study to copy values for a particular bar to the excel sheet. I was checking both, the Spreadsheet Study and the Spreadsheet System for Trading study. Can you please provide me more details how can I do this?

Also, can you please provide me with a solution for how to copy values from the Tool Values Window or Chart Values Window?

OK since the Spreadsheet study uses a spreadsheet itself, we thought that would meet your requirements.

If you want to use Excel, that is not reliably supported. However, there is an Input with the Spreadsheet study which does support outputting to Excel:

Also, can you please provide me with a solution for how to copy values from the Tool Values Window or Chart Values Window?
Use this command:

Other than this, we do not have any other solution.

I still didn't find a way how to copy the values for a particular bar (the bar where i get signal for the manual backtest) to the spreadsheet. All I can do with the spreadsheet studies is to copy all values to the the spreadsheet. Can you please provide me with an example how can I do this please?

What you want to do is not supported. We have made it clear what is supported.

Please do not ask us further about this.

Well, this is really great support. You advised to use the Spreadsheet study for what I want to achieve and when I asked you how to use it as I didn't find any useful information in the documentation you tell me that this is not supported and I should not ask any questions anymore???

We did give you a link to the documentation for the Spreadsheet study.

Here it is again:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_SpreadsheetStudy.html

You can specifically refer to this page for the step-by-step instructions:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/StudiesSystemsAlerts.php#Instructions

All I can do with the spreadsheet studies is to copy all values to the the spreadsheet.
Based upon what you said here, it is clear that you do know how to use the Spreadsheet study.

However, this is simply just not supported other than through the Edit menu and copying the chart values manually (which we also gave you a documentation link for):
I still didn't find a way how to copy the values for a particular bar (the bar where i get signal for the manual backtest) to the spreadsheet.

So we simply cannot provide any further help because what you want is not supported and there is no reason to ask us further about this. It is just simply a matter of closing this support request so there is no unnecessary time spent on either side. This is all. If Sierra Chart does not meet your requirements then use another program that will. If your requirement is something that we are planning to develop, or would be reasonable for us to add in the near-term future we would mention that. But this is not the case here.

This is not a matter of support which is not good. This is a matter of very accurate to the point support without any nonsense. We have answered all of your questions completely and accurately.

Another thing you can do is have a look at ACSIL to see if you can do something with that to meet your requirements:
