SC vers 1433, (updated to 1434 to try if might help). SC had been fine; Had Shutdown Friday late, to backup- was V-1433. I backup completely every day, so I may just restore (then update a few formulas) if you are not sure what's happening. Hoping last backup is solid - if this is corrupted spreadsheet on shutdown or something. On restart Sunday, a) Waiting for Historical data mssg stayed on (had disconnected cable to prevent current updates). (to do more Sim on older data) Usually that waiting message turns off after 1 minute, but it stayed on. b) an Odd Character like a Square 0 showed up in Col K. To correct odd character: 1) I restarted SC - No change 2) I reconnected internet cable - update history finished, messages off; odd character still 3) I shut down & updated to 1434 - No change on restart. 4) I copied formula in K to Notepad & back,to eliminate any special characters - No change Also, when I tried AutoTrade on Sim, Column K appeared to no longer work. (No Buys when it had previously in that time region.) Have you seen anything like this before? Picture attached |

Re the AutoTrade not Buying: That was probably my failure to re-enable AutoTrade on reload of SC. I restored just the Spreadsheet file - did not fix it. I also rebooted the PC to see if Win 7 had run too long. No change. I'll backup current (with problem) and restore to Saturday (actually) entire backup. Hopefully I had not missed the trouble-issue before backing up. |

Correction on Last: AutoTrade really was not working on Col K. I restored from full backup of Saturday, which was all working, I'm sure. K-col still shows odd character. FOUND PROBLEM: Some aspect of newer K Formula. Tried 3rd-back version of K formula; odd character disappeared. Likely reference to undefined column. Sorry to bother you. Note Post, #3: FOUND PROBLEM. Missing closing parenthesis on two levels. Although my spreadsheet might help find an odd condition for "Syntax Error", that's all it was: I'm about 20 steps beyond that now, so I can't reproduce it. Though 99.9% of Syntax errors do, not every one needs to issue a message, if "weird zeroes" & no buys show up... it's good enough. Seems a 50-year minor thing not worth pursuing. S.C.'s super-reliability & Speed is what matters! Sorry to take your valuable time. |

If you cannot reproduce it anymore, then we just have to let it go. But otherwise, we do need to look into why this is/was happening.
