Error installing latest SierraChart on Linux (Ubuntu + Wine)

Ubuntu 14.04 LTS A new Wine 1.9.11 installation, plus Winetricks, "vcrun2010" and "corefonts" - according the instructions in Help topic 56: Run Sierra Chart on GNU/Linux, BSD, Solaris and Mac OS X. When installing the newest SierraChart version 1423 (June 3, 2016) there is an error: Error starting C:\SierraChart\vcredist_x86_2010.exe. Windows error code 2: File was not found. \| 2016-06-03 23:44:20 I have also tried to create the new wineprefix (to be sure having 32 bit Windows XP environment) & install SierraChart from the command line: ~$ WINEARCH=win32 WINEPREFIX=/home/<user>/.wine_XP_SierraChart winecfg ~$ WINEPREFIX=/home/<user>/.wine_XP_SierraChart wine start /unix /home/<user>/Plocha/SierraChartFileDownloader.exe But the result is the same error... It is interesting that only "SierraChart" directory and 1 subdirectory "Data" (both empty) are created within the "drive_c" in the wineprefix. I've been experimenting but no success... The installator creates the directory /SierraChart/DownloadedInstallationFiles/ and fills it by SierraChart app files during installation. But after that the "Error starting C:\SierraChart\vcredist_x86_2010.exe. Windows error code 2: File was not found." appears. It seems like there should be a step for copy the content /DownloadedInstallationFiles/ into directory /SierraChart/ after download of the files from SierraChart. But instead of that no copy performed and the directory /DownloadedInstallationFiles/ is deleted. And installation fails with above mentioned error.

SC Support This kind of the answer has not make any sense. ftp is not so secure for you using ro mode? no problem. give us a chance to get it file by file using wget/curl and choose a way you like so it might be automated on a user's side. thnx.

If you look at the installer log file which is contained in the Logs folder in the folder where the installer is run from, you can see the location of the files and can create your own installer using HTTP. The installer has now been updated to solve the problem with WINE. There was a particular function being used in one version of the installer which was not functioning right on WINE. Thank you very much, it does work now! The only small taint (but not a real problem): the directory /DownloadedInstallationFiles/ remains in the main SierraChart directory after installation. SC Support These are files common between many versions this is puzzled a bit upgrading from 1421 to 1423 should I update Common1410/* to get new 1423 version? thnx.
