Opening existing .cpp file in editor overwrites file with new file template

I am new to SC coding, and I found this behavior beginning yesterday or the day before:

1. Open an existing .cpp file via the menu: Analysis > New/Open Custom Studies File > select the file name
2. The file opens with nothing but the new file template containing the SetDefaults code. All the previously-existing code is gone. Checking in Windows File Manager, the old file has been overwritten.

For instance, this happened just now to the studies.cpp file. I have a backup, so no harm done, but apparently I can't open or edit any existing cpp file now. I am pretty sure that it worked as expected (just opened the file) before.

I upgraded to version 1422 today and it's still happening.

Is there some other way I should be accessing these files?

Thanks for your help.

Bob.

This will be corrected in version 1423.

It was a compiler error causing this unexpected problem.
