BUG: SC locks when modifying study templates

It's been happening since late last year.

How to replicate:
1. link a few charts together all having the same study, symbol, etc, the complicated the study the better, ie using color background by alert.
2. edit the study template, add a few things, click apply, repeat a few times, save all the study template.
3. CS locks, only giving access to external windows (alerts, logs, etc)
4. Go to task manager, kill CS, restart it.

Replicating is random but it happens regularly with no errors shown on logs.

Not urgent, but annoying.
To prevent this, I duplicate the chart into a new chartbook, closing the original template and I modify the study there and save it, reopen the template and apply the changes, but its no guarantee it won't lock :/

Also, the bug isn't present when going directly to the study of a template via the right clicking on the top right of a chart.. which suggest the issue is in the actual study template allocation window.

Thanks

There is definitely no such problem in Sierra Chart. This appears to be a system specific issue in which a particular dialog window is not displaying. Probably pressing the Escape key will cancel the dialog you cannot see.

We are not going to spend any time on this. This is too vague and nonspecific and we do not believe whatsoever this is a problem within Sierra Chart with how this is being described.

Furthermore, from our perspective what you are describing does not even make any sense to us. We do not even know precisely what you are even talking about. Substantially we are not even understanding specifically what you are referring to. In general we understand what you are saying but that functionality works flawlessly. But you can encounter operating system-level problems which can cause malfunctions which we have no control over.

Understand that you will make no progress with us at all unless you are giving us clear reproducible steps with proper terminology which lead to an error message or an exception occurring.

Sorry, by template I mean Chartbook.
Attached is a screenshot of the error on the logs.
The first error doesn't freeze SC, the second one does.
ESC key doesn't work, it's frozen, except for external windows, which can only be min/max/closed.

I was able to replicate on win7, winXP and wine1.6 and 1.9

We cannot help with WINE. We can look into this on Windows 7.

We need specific steps to reproduce and your Chartbook.

I've upgraded 1423.

To replicate on winXP, win7 and also win2003, just keep adding random studies, change the chart region to 2 and "save all" the collection, repeat a few times and it will freeze.

IE, saving the collection a few times, then changing the zero lag of Ask/Bid vol to region two, will freeze on all my platforms.

Cheers
Mike.

The reason for this problem had to do with the alert condition formula specified on the main price graph which references studies. It has nothing to do with Study Collections.

Version 1426 has been released which corrects this problem.

Also there would have been no way for us to have found this without your Chartbook.
