Entry rulesets:

I am trying to create an alert system using Spreadsheets.

I have created some rulesets for alert positioning. However, the alert is set to occur on the open of the next bar, whereever that may be.

Is there a way to establish a ruleset (once my entry alert has occurred) for the purchase at next bar open?

If you would like to lock the state of the bar once the alert is set, then please refer to the documentation here:
http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?l=doc/doc_WS_AddInfo.html#StateLocking

Or you can have your rules reference the previous bar's data. So if that bar triggers the alert, then purchase at current bar.

I 'm afraid I don't quite understand, perhaps I can rephrase what I'd like to do? & this will help to elaborate my goal and help me understand from subsequent responses? idk.

Can I create a ruleset for entry on next bar open? Or am I limited only to the initial alert ruleset?

& if I cannot create a ruleset for the entry on next bar portion:

Can I create a ruleset for the specific entry criteria, that sits apart from the parameters ruleset?

In our initial response, there was a misunderstanding of what you required.

In the Spreadsheet study you are using you just need to set the input Signal Only on Bar Close to Yes.

Setting the system to trigger on bar close doesnt put me any closer to creating entry placement code...

Have you tried setting Signal Only on Bar Close to Yes? This will give you an entry on the next bar open when the formula is TRUE at row 4. This is how it works.

We do not understand this question. What is a parameters ruleset? Also with Spreadsheets, the terminology is normally "formula" for what goes into a cell and can trigger a buy/sell order.

"Parameter ruleset", was my sad attempt to say, greenlight to take a trade.
So if K3 or M3 = true, that would be a green light.

"Ruleset for entry on next bar open", was a sad attempt to say, a formula to specify order entry placement.

Right now I'm trying to combine my greenlight with my placement formula. Which results in difficulties.
Is there a way to separate the two, by making a formula for order entry?

Right now, I believe order entry is under row 22, and can be set to =b3 - =e3.
Can I alter the formula =B3 (which would place my entry on next bar) to include study specific formulas? & if so, how might I go about that?
If it is too specific, I'd be willing to take this up via phone.

-thank you for being patient with me :)

Ok, I have discovered where we are finding dissonance:

What I am refering to as a greenlight for a trde, you would recognize as k3=true or m3=true.

& when I say a formula for order entry on next bar's open, you would recognize this as
a buy/sell configuration on the "trade window"

I was wondering if I can combined spreadsheet formulas with (an) oco order(s)?
This would make order entry extremely optimized! Smokesumbotz

You definitely can do what you want with Sierra Chart. You are able to configure the Spreadsheet System for Trading study to submit an order at the open of a new bar when a formula becomes TRUE and you can also submit Attached Orders with that. All of this is possible.

If you would like us to help you with this with remote assistance, we can do that. We have to schedule a time. For something like this, the earliest is going to be towards the end of this week.
