I have followed all the instructions supplied, and can log into the platform but the data won't connect. Keeps on coming up connecting and then to waiting to reconnect. I am trying a demo through AMP and CQG. How do I overcome this?

Set Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Service to "CQG Web API". In that same window set Connection Details >> Server to "Demo". Try connecting again with File >> Connect to Data Feed and you should be able to connect. If not contact your broker about this.
