When overlaying a "Spreadsheet Study" on to a "Spreadsheet System for Trading Study" the maximum "Number of Formula Columns" (60)are transferred even though the "Spreadsheet Study" "Number of Formula Columns" is set to 16. As a result there are many additional columns transferred that have only zero's in them.

The way to avoid this is to use a SMA with a length of 1, Based On the Spreadsheet Study's column, then use the Study/Price Overlay study to overlay the SMA on the chart with the Spreadsheet System for Trading study.

What do you mean by this:
When overlaying a "Spreadsheet Study" on to a "Spreadsheet System for Trading Study"

What exactly are you doing?

I use a "Spreadsheet Study" with large range bars. Calculations are performed on the PREVIOUS completed bar, NOT the current bar in progress. These calculations are then applied to a "Spreadsheet System for Trading" study using the "Study/Price Overlay" study. The "Spreadsheet System for Trading" study has much smaller range bars with calculations combining both the large range bar calculations and the smaller range bar calculations. This gives me a visual on both the larger range bar calculations and the smaller range bar calculations in the single window.

My original query was if the "Spreadsheet Study" has only 16 formula columns (as set by the "Settings and Inputs" menu, why the "Study/Price Overlay" study needs to transfer all the unused columns.(ie 60).

This is an easy solution. You just need to set this Input to Yes:
