It would be very logical and convenient if the hand tool could scroll the chart also vertically if "Interactive scale move" is on.

PS And if the middle mouse button click would activate/deactivate crosshair, that would save like 10000 clicks on the toolbar button per year.

Currently you can use Interactive Scaling:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?l=doc/doc_Scaling.html#InteractiveScaling

To quickly alternate between Interactive Scale Move and Interactive Scale Range, either click and drag to use the selected option, or press the ctrl key on your keyboard and drag to activate the other option.

You can enable the crosshair by pressing:
Alt-3

When you want to disable the crosshair, you can do so by enabling the Pointer via pressing
Alt-1

PS: The Alt and Ctrl keys are either to the left or right of the 'space bar' on a standard keyboard.

"X-Mouse Button Control" turned out to be a perfect solution for switching the cursors. I set middle click to turn on crosshair, wheel down brings back the arrow, wheel up activates the hand tool.
Dragging the chart in all 4 directions would still make sense, cause usually that's the whole idea of a handtool.
Thanks.

I get that this post is nearly 4 years old, but has mouse shortcuts been introduced yet? I also would love to set middle click to turn on crosshair. It is currently an unused mouse button. If there is a way to do this within Sierra Charts I'd really appreciate the tip. :)

Yes this has been supported for a long time.

You need to set up a keyboard shortcut within Sierra Chart and then use your mouse control panel in the operating system to trigger that keyboard shortcut with the middle click.

Refer to this page for setting up keyboard shortcuts:
Global Settings Menu: Customize Keyboard Shortcuts (Global Settings menu)

Anyone still using "X-Mouse Button Control" ? I've installed it but when I have the dialogue to configure it open and click anywhere but Sierra chart I can see that the corresponding dialogue box (e.g. "middle mouse button" is highlighted to demonstrate that the click registered. If I click anywhere on a Sierra window however, it's not registering any clicks in the "X-Mouse Button Control" dialogue. It's like Sierra is capturing all the mouse clicks and bypassing "X-Mouse Button Control".

Any help appreciated

no it is not supported or i do not understand it! if I set the keyboard shortcut in sierra chart and then the middle mouse button under Windows (correct?) prove, then I can only deposit a combination. How do I change back? My wish, I would like to press the middle mouse button (the wheel) and the crosshair comes and if I press again I would like to have the hand again, or the pointer (is both the same for me anyway). Is that possible?

If you use Logitech software for example to change the mapping of the middle mouse button to a keyboard shortcut and then map that keyboard shortcut in Sierra to crosshair then it will switch it to crosshair. However a second press to the middle mouse will not toggle it back to hand tool or something else, it only will switch you to crosshairs. Also, you will not be Able to use the middle mouse button in the windows for normal function

Sierra would need to allow mapping of mouse buttons in Sierra directly and allow us to toggle from on function to another to enable this in an elegant solution. I think they are working on shortcut updates, hopefully this will be in a future release as it’s in mt4 lol

yes, exactly as I said, activate goes but does not switch back. but why must sierrachart introduce the key assignment of the mouse (would be a solution)? You could also incorporate it by default, without setting options. In all other chart programs, it is also possible, without something must be set, whether Metatrader, or Atas which I test in parallel and in various other. Sierrachart is really the best program I have tried so far, much better than Atas, but this little thing is a big disadvantage, since the function is constantly needed. I still hope that there is a solution.

there are ways to do this using autohotkeys but i've found the hack to be pretty unreliable. I prefer now just to use keyboard shortcuts until Sierra enable mouse shortcuts
