I use multiple spreadsheet overlays on the same chart - and I'm getting duplicate lines of output based on how many overlays there are - and that of course buggers up the outputted charts i.e on the chart with 2 s/sheet overlays I get 2 rows of the same data, and the chart with 5 overlays gets 5 rows of duplicate data. When adding an additional overlay I only change the following - and ensure all sheets have the same. - Number of formula colums - Number of rows - Do not output subgraphs - set to Yes If I refresh the s/sheet - by going into the Study Settings and 'clicking' apply it clears out the duplicates but starts printing duplicates for new data Please let me know if I can provide anything else cheers |

We do not understand this. What do you mean by "Overlay"? Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. I mean adding multiple studies of "Spreadsheet System for Trading" - sorry overlay is the wrong word

We think the problem relates to the study calculation order. For an understanding of that refer to: Chart Studies: Study Calculation Precedence And Related Issues Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. I put all the s/sheets to the bottom of the list and it made no difference. So it doesn't appear calculation order is the issue. I made a simple test I opened a new chartbook Based on an ES 500 volume chart Overlaid TTCK-NYSE 1 sec chart Added 2 Spreadsheet studies - with no formulas And this started producing 2 duplicate rows I added another spreadsheet, and then it started producing 3 rows |

From our perspective we do not understand this and this is not completely clear to us. We do not know exactly what you are doing, what you are seeing, and exactly what studies are being used. There are several different Spreadsheet studies. And we do think this is due to a calculation precedence issue even though it may not be apparent to you. Provide a screenshot showing what you are seeing and explain what you would expect to see and why. I have attached screenshots from the test mentioned in Post 5. 1 "Study/Price Overlay", and 3 "Spreadsheet System for Trading" No changes to default study settings, apart from giving the spreadsheet a name. No other chartbook is open No formulas were added to the spreadsheet. As you can see from the spreadsheet I'm getting 3 rows where I expect there to be only 1 If I get the 'Studies' box up, and click 'OK', then all duplicate rows disappear, but going forward it continues to produce duplicate rows. I do have 'autocalculate' selected in the spreadsheet options Edit: I made the test even more simple. No 'Price Study Overlay'. Only "Spreadsheet System for Trading". On a 1 min chart. I added 10 spreadsheets - no formulas. I got 10 rows of output on the spreadsheet. Date Time Of Last Edit: 2016-04-08 18:25:34

Keep in mind when you look at the spreadsheet that you will need to wait for the next minute before it starts printing the duplicate lines as it would have just been 'refreshed' when you open it - and should look normal.

The problem is you have all of those Spreadsheet studies outputting data to the same Sheet in the Spreadsheet so they all are performing row shift down operations which is causing this problem. What you are doing does not make sense. Until we saw this Chartbook, we really had very little idea of what you were seeing and what the problem was.
