I'm in the process of installing Sierra Charts on a new computer. I'm a current user/subscriber. I don't recall in the past ever having to manually install "Microsoft C++ Redistributable Package". I notice the instruction for "new users" to install it. Is a new computer considered a "new user" ??

This is actually still installed by the Sierra Chart installer. So there is nothing special to do.

It is required for a new computer.

First you say "there is nothing special to do". Then you say "It is required on a new computer". That is ambiguous , at least to me. I have downloaded the green highlighted new version 1385, but am waiting to do the actual install until I am not confused. Should I cancel the installation and go back and first install the "Microsoft C++ redistributable package" first, then install Sierra Charts v1385 in that order?

We apologize for the delay with responding. This had gotten overlooked yesterday.

What we mean is that it is required on a new computer but there is nothing special to do to install this package. It is installed automatically because the installer will install it by default.

if i have already installed SC on this computer and am updating to a newer version of SC the C++ package is still in the installer and selected. should i continue to keep installing this or uncheck it? maybe the installer can check for it already being installed and not show/install it?
