Hi, I've updated recently and the time line study now starts printing 10 minutes prior to the set time and prints each subsequent bar until the actual time. https://gyazo.com/6753583683a51d78d4c1248cddae5b40 Picture for reference. I've tried removing the studies and then re-applying to no luck. Is this a settings issue or a glitch? Thanks |

That chart image is not clear enough for us. It is a picture of the text being over written by the study triggering multiple times before the time it is set to. The 5 minute chart triggers 3 times and the one minute chart triggers 10 times. It is only set for a single time. The alerts will trigger also multiple times so I deleted them. The problem is that the study can no longer tell time. |

Did you check the study Inputs? What are they set to? Also post an image of the chart following these instructions here: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=PostingInformation.php#Image Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. I have found that it is the new function of allowed range of time in minutes that is default set to 10. Perhaps a default setting of 0 would be better and not confuse/trouble people when updating from older versions with time lines studies on charts already working as they intend. But the issue is resolved. |

There are so many possibilities in the way that the study is being used that it is not possible for there to be any best default setting. This is the reason changes were made to the study to support other kinds of scenarios. When it comes to time analysis, this is very complex programming wise and much more difficult than users realize. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. I understand the complexities that can go into it, much of my business is time based and I make extensive use of time based studies. But if you're going to introduce new features into a study the best, and easily the best default setting will be the one that leaves current users of the study unaffected by the new feature. And while I've got your attention, is it possible to get more extensions to the initial balance study? It would also be beneficial to have a version of the study that acted like high/low of time period and didn't extend, or was able to be based on one time period and project through a set time period so one doesn't have to build different session time charts for working multiple period ranges. Thanks. |
