I am running a historical daily chart, 10 days back, when I load a symbol eg CME_Eq-ES-CME_20130900_ESU3 I receive only today's bar. Expected behaviour would be seeing the last 10 bars.

Currently no data in file to display. Will start historical data download and real-time updates. File: C:\SierraChart\Data\CME_Eq-ES-CME_20130900_ESU3.dly | 2013-07-02 11:45:21

Select Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Historical Data Service Settings.

Enable the Use Primary Service Server option.

After this, you can update all of the Historical Daily charts by selecting Edit >>Download Data for All Historical Charts.

I am having a similar issue,I'm looking for historical data up to 1000 days back for my daily chart and don't have data past 04/22. I have the settings at 1000.

Thanks,

Are you aware that you have the chart data type set to Intraday?

And you are really looking for three years of historical Intraday data from a trading service? You are also not a paid user of Sierra Chart.

To go this far back you have to look at using a paid data service with Sierra Chart and need to become a paid user. For the time being we recommend the supported IQ Feed data service for this.

You also need to create Continuous Futures Contract chart:

Sorry, I didn't realize I had intraday setting on. All I know is I paid TST for data feed and charting.

Thanks

OK, but the point is that for a data need like three years of historical Intraday data, an external paid service is what is required for reliability.

When using IQ Feed, they have symbols that provide Continuous futures contract data. This avoids the need to use the Continuous Futures Contract setting in Sierra Chart.

For now go into Chart >>Chart Settings and set the Historical Price Multiplier to the same as the Real-time Price Multiplier.

We are updating the symbol settings file for CTS to solve this problem.

This will be done in a couple of hours. At that time you will need to restart Sierra Chart to get the updated settings.

To get the updated settings into existing charts, you need to go into the Chart Settings for the chart and press the Apply Global Symbol Settings button.
