Hello Sierra Chart users and Support Team,

I am currently using IB data feed and I am trying to choose a third party data feed as now I am really feeling the need to have good accuracy and reliability in my charts (I am using 6 Range and 2 Range charts).

However I’m having a hard time to decide between Barchart or IQFeed.

Barchart data feed price is much nicer but I don’t know if it is as good as IQFeed apparently is and I can’t find any review, comparison or users opinion about Barchart anywhere.

I would really appreciate to have some comments and advice from Barchart data feed users or anyone with some knowledge about it.

Thanks in advance.

Do you need Stock or Futures data?

Thank you for your fast reply.

I just need Futures Data (CME Globex / Nymex).

Barchart will work well. However, they do not provide historical bid volume or ask volume data. So this is the only practical limitation. As far as data feed latency goes, we have not paid too close attention to that. Other users may have some comments on that.

It appears that Barchart does provide historical bid and ask volume. I just downloaded the ES, it's all historical data, I know I never had that symbol on a chart in realtime. I can install the Bid Ask Volume Ratio study and it looks ok.

The Historical bid volume and ask volume is not accurate with Barchart. It is not based upon bid and ask prices, rather if a trade traded higher or lower than the previous trade.

Some data feed processing improvements with Barchart have been made recently, so if you do use Barchart please update by selecting Help >> Download Current Version.
