My charts keep freezing. I was able to get the copy log for a few seconds.
It says error 60.

yes, that's because I shut off my internet so it would load without internet connection.
I guess the previous log didn't print.
Still freezing.
Nothing else running.
Update interval set to 100.
I actually ILLIMINATED a chart that was duplicated in a higher time frame but with the "Better Volume" study on it. Charts ran slow at start up, but otherwise when Live, it was fine.
I know the "Custom Studies" aren't supported, but it didn't give me problems before until this version.
Only thing I added over weekend was "Overlay of a study"
I assumed since the net load is lighter I wouldn't have a problem.
i3 cpu and 16gb RAM.

My idea is the Overlay is causing problems. (Offline its fine)
I noticed when the two(2) charts regarding the overlay had different days loaded, this caused a little longer starting up, and the overlay obviously didn't work for the added days on the one chart.
BUT now I think it causes a freeze when connected to data because the "days to load" are different.
(I did this because the longer chart took a lot longer to load when changing the days.)
I think I read that there's an option to sync the charts days loaded, but I didn't think this would matter. My Overlay is the TICK:NYSE onto my charts. They're the same time frame.
Any ideas?

There has to be something with the Overlay study. My charts won't work when connected. They work fine not connected. I'm thinking there might have to do with something about the syncing. For instance, all setting the same. My regular chart is 5 days loaded, and TICK-NYSE 5 days loaded.
Yet,(offline) the regular chart goes back to 2-2, yet the TICK goes to only 2-4.
So obviously the days in the TICK are considered different then the reg charts (TICK counts weekend days) I don't have any weekend data loaded.
I guess this normally wouldn't be a problem if the charts remained separate, but because of the Overlay that seems to mess it up. I would think they would compare similar data dates.

When you remove the Overlay studies from the charts, does the CPU load problem go away? We would not expect any of the Overlay studies to be causing a problem unless there is some kind of conflict.

Are there any messages in the Window >> Message Log indicating continuous chart recalculations or reloading of charts?

I don't see anything in the log (log attached). CPU goes to about 25% after any change in chart studies or days loaded change. (day change I understand)
To be fair, The two charts are 1 second charts, but I've been using them with no problem regarding freezing.
I've removed the "Overlay" study, and its a lot better.
BUT still freezing even when I do something benign as changing a study color after pressing ok.
I only have one day loaded on the charts now. I've had 18, 30 days loaded before and no problems. Obviously it takes a little time to load, but once loaded no problems.
The only other study I added this weekend is the "Auto retracement study" Besides noticing it won't plot the high if the amount is below zero (and vice versa)[absolute value?], there's no problem with that, so I assumed it was the overlay study since it would seem that would be a lot more intensive.
Maybe its as simple as a retracement calculation putting a big load on a 1 sec chart. I guess that's more of a constant load, then several "days to load" added. Odd though, on this recent of a computer.

I get why it takes some time to load small time bars for several days, but why when I change back, say from 10 days to 1, does it still take some time?
I would think its just "deleting" the data load. But maybe the answer it deletes all data, then reloads the new amount?

Just loaded the Overlay Line study again, and my computer wont Unfreeze. This is set to only one day, and the TICK-NYSE isn't open so there's no load there. I would expect that at one day even a 1 sec chart should be able to handle the overlay. Maybe some kind of problem with the relation between ES data and TICK? Although they're not relating to each other, only plotting elsewhere with the same time frame and Independent time frame.

Just noticed while connected without the Overlay, My CPU is at around 20%. Update milliseconds is at 100, that's default right? Seems high in the evening w/o TICK-NYSE going. (Also noticed when Sierra Charts is reduced it falls to nothing. I assumed since it still working that whether its on screen or not wouldn't effect CPU usage.)

The latest:

I reloaded the Overlay this morning before open
Charts worked fine. When the RTH started, even though one day loaded, therefore without Reload, it had two days in charts, still worked fine.
The problem of freezing started when either I reloaded or changed to 2 days loaded (even though 2 where actually loaded), then it would freeze.
So it cant handle two days. I guess since one day is in the chart settings, but after RTH started and now two days are "visible", it only calculates one days worth, because that's what chart settings are at.
Still like to know what chart update milliseconds I should be at?

It should be instantaneous especially if there are no studies on the chart.

Also, we have read over your other recent messages and they are really meaningless to us as we do not have access to your Sierra Chart set up.

If there is a particular study causing a problem, we would need to know which one specifically and get a Chartbook from you containing a single chart so we can test it. However, there have been no changes recently to the Overlay studies.
