If a synthetic data feed has been created inserting in custom symbols into a IQFeed, is there way for sierra chart to create that instrument or to be able to call it up from the database?

For example, in Ninja Trader there is the option to create an instrument and reference the symbol code to chart the custom instrument symbol. Is this possible with Sierra Chart as well?

Yes this is possible just by using that custom symbol when connected to IQ Feed. Nothing special to do. Manually type it in when opening a chart through File >> Find Symbol.

Please see the uploaded image, the symbol does not pull any data. Do I need to enter in the information a different way? For reference, Ninja Trader is able to pull and chart the data with the symbol entered as shown on the screen shot. Thanks.

You did this correctly. Contact IQ Feed for support about this.

Message log reads: 23705.NOA 5 Min #13 | Currently no data in file to display. Will start historical data download and real-time updates. File: C:\SierraChart - 1 Primary Futures\Data\23705.NOA.scid | 2016-01-04 15:36:48

Could the .scid possible make SC point to the wrong directory file in the database? If so, is it possible to modify how Sierra is searching for the symbol or what would you recommend since the same symbol can be pulled out of Ninja Trader on the same symbol code indicating the data is available to pull.

Thanks.

It is very clear the IQ feed system is rejecting market data requests for that symbol. You have to rely upon IQ Feed support for this. We have no idea how we could help you with this. We were not even aware of such a capability that IQ Feed has that you are using.
