Hi, I am trying use sieera chart for Thinkouswim account to trade stocks . I looked at numbersbars and having difficulty in setting for basic view for AAPL and goog. I read in online documentation but could go any where after 1 hr . I will appreciate if any one share any basic template for footprint(number bars) for stocks and i will try to work our setting up from there... |

please find attached file. Practically no data for first few hours and some bars and info around after noon . Is it supposed to be that difficult ? would,'t it be easier if you supply default distribution with some baSIC templates like Market Delta does ?

From what we can see, you have already done this well. It is not any more difficult than the instructions explain. And you have done everything properly. It does not matter what Market Delta does. What matters is what Sierra Chart offers and what makes sense. Following through the instructions is not difficult and they are very thorough and clear. The general reason we do not like to provide "templates" is because users should go through the instructions and understand all of the basic steps to use the Numbers Bars study. Otherwise, they may skip some essential steps which are still necessary to perform which a template cannot do. Like vertical and horizontal scaling. Looks like you may not have the time zone set correctly. Follow the instructions here: http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_TimeZone.html Also, it is essential that you use the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed for proper data for the Numbers Bars study. TD Ameritrade does not provide the proper data for this study. This is the data feed you need to use: http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/SierraChartRealTimeFuturesStockDataFeed.php At this point there is no point in moving forward with this unless you use either the Sierra Chart Historical Data Service which you have access to now, or the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed. Please do not spend further time using TD Ameritrade data with an advanced study like Numbers Bars. That service does not have the proper data for Numbers Bars. And where you see valid Numbers Bars it is only because that data is coming from the Sierra Chart Historical Data Service. So as you can see, you were doing everything right. Apparently the time zone is not set correctly and you are using a data feed that does not provide the proper data for this study in which case a template would have accomplished absolutely nothing.
