Hi,
I have loaded a chart with $INX S&P 500 Index but it's not looking real time.
Do I need package 5 to make this work?
Thanks,
Joe

If you require this index in real-time, there is an extra cost for it. Refer to:
Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed: Cash Indexes

The cost is 38.25 USD per month.

However, there is a less expensive way to get this. You can use the SPX500 CFD symbol with this service:
Sierra Chart Real Time and Historical Forex and CFD Data Service

Hi,
I had 'SC Data All Services' enabled, but I tried 'SC Forex Data' but the download failed so I'm back to 'SC Data All Services'....and still no live charts.....$INX S&P 500 Index. Under File / Find Symbol it is listed as 'Real Time'.....not sure why this is so difficult.
Why don't you make up a package for people like me so we can learn to use Sierra Charts and practice trading at the same time, maybe with the ES, NQ, Gold and Crude. I have used Sierra Charts in the past and really like what you have built. However, I find your website a real barrier to trading.....so much repetitive wording, round and round the rabbit hole. Maybe I'm just not technical enough ....but I'm trying.
Thanks for your help.
Joe

You can continue to use SC Data-All Services. The symbol is in File >> Find Symbol >> CFD and it is SPX500.

Could you please write the management of the New York Stock Exchange , Standard & Poor's market data, and the Chicago Mercantile exchange that you would like them to provide Sierra Chart a reasonably priced data feed for all symbols they make market data available for. The should be in the range of about 500 USD per month.

It should not be higher than that so we can have a reasonable monthly cost to provide data from multiple exchanges throughout the world.

And then will be happy to comply with your request.

Also refer to this information here about futures data:

.so much repetitive wording, round and round the rabbit hole.
Sierra Chart provides a wide array of functionality, and certain subjects such as market data from exchanges, have numerous rules and costs associated with them, which requires more explanation surrounding the subjects.

We want to make everything as clear as possible in the documentation and answer all questions for users to minimize on the amount of questions that we get.

Hi,
I understand it's complicated.....but I think I'm getting it. I think I need a higher level package as when I go "File', and then down to 'Connect to Data Feed'....it is not enabled. Would package 5 do it....?
Thanks,
Joe

No, you do not need Sierra Chart service package 5.

What is Global Settings >>Data/Trade Service Settings >> Service set to?

So we are clear at the moment, what symbol do you want a chart for?

It sounds like you are properly connected to the data feed now.

We could give you a call and show you very quickly what to do. But of course if you have to pay extra for market data for real-time data, there are more steps and cost involved.

I would like to Sim trade the ES for a start. I have the symbol

$INX [M] 1 Min #5 SP 500 Index - SP Indices up on my chartbook.

It is currently stuck at 1922.53....not moving lol. When I go to File, Find Symbol and look down the list, it says: Indexes Real Time. This must be the right choice....?
If possible, I would also like to Sim trade Crude, Gold and the Nasdaq.
I really just want to learn to use Sierra Charts platform competently before I trade live.
Thanks,
Joe

You will need to use the symbols under File >> Find Symbol >> CFD.

These are the only ones that will update in real time for you.

You can find a table of some of them here:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/SCRealTimeFOREX.php#FuturesAlternative

For the S&P 500 use SPX500 for the symbol.
