Multiple instances => Data not loading

I run multiple instances with separate data folders. All charts in the secondary instance point to the primary instance as data source.

I have two instruments that fail to load in the secondary instance, even though the secondary instance correctly points to the primary instance (in the "find symbol" menu), and the data is fully loaded in the primary instance. In fact, if chartbook is opened in primary instance, charts/data load correctly, but when opened in secondary instance, chart gets stuck at "downlading continuous contract data".

I have dozens of other instruments where I have no problem doing exactly the same. Problem only present on two specific instruments, and only for intraday continuous contract (both conditions).

Please help. Thank you.

As explained at step 4 here, Continuous Futures Contract charts are not supported when using data from a remote instance of Sierra Chart:

This will be supported sometime in January with the new DTC Protocol Server which we are finishing the development of now.

Thank you. Will keep this present. For the record: oddly, the data loaded overnight.

The data will be downloaded from the Interactive Brokers connection but it will be very slow due to pacing violations.

So the historical data for expired contracts is not coming from the remote instance. Instead it is coming from Interactive Brokers when using the Continuous Futures Contract feature.

Not the case. The data was already downloaded in the source data folder, and the remote instance did not download additional data.
Also using the Sierra Chart feed for CME instruments, not IB.

I understand if you don't support it. Will be great to see it supported in the near future.

I'll post here the explanation/solution if I find it, in case it helps someone.

The data was being downloaded because the screenshot you attached in the first post clearly shows this.

Also, the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed is not being directly used when a chart is using data from another instance. So the expired contract data was being downloaded from Interactive Brokers.
